Today in Island History
1847 In a daring mid-ocean rescue, William Douse and the five crewmen of the schooner Jenny Lind take 12 survivors off the wreck of the bark Amitie. As a gesture of thanks, the survivors commission a painting of the rescue, which survives to the present day.

Events and Activities for 2016!


July 1 - Canada Day

Join the staff and friends of Green Park Shipbuilding Museum and Historic Yeo House to celebrate Canada’s 149th Birthday! We will supply complimentary Canada Day cake, juice, and, tours of the Historic Yeo House will be provided.  There will also be musical entertainment and children's game


Green Park Camp Days - for ages 5-12 - $10/day -  At the Museum!

July 6 and 20 & August 3 and 17 - 10:00am - 4:00pm -  Rain or Shine

We will provide four days of fun activities over  the summer including, cool crafts, sports games and water games!  Bring your own packed lunch, bathing suit, towel, sunscreen and  bug spray.

August 21 -  39th Annual Blueberry Social- 1:30-4:30pm

This is a joint venture between Ellerslie 4-H and the staff at Green Park Shipbuilding Museum. Join us on our beautiful grounds, for the 39th Annual Blueberry Social.  Enjoy a generous piece of homemade blueberry pie or cake, while enjoying our musical entertainment, old fashioned carnival games and  our famous  pie  pating contest.
