1838 HMS Malabar runs aground off Cape Bear. After jettisoning her 36 guns, she is re- floated with the assistance of local shipowner Joseph Wightman. His feat earns him the nickname "Sir Joseph Malabar," and a gift of plate from the British government worth 500.

Green Park Shipbuilding Museum and Yeo House invites visitors to step back in time and re-live the story of Prince Edward Island's shipbuilding industry in its glory days. Explore the restored Victorian rooms of historic Yeo house, home of successful shipbuilder, James Yeo Jr.

Enjoy the beautiful grounds and find a lovely spot for a picnic.
