About the Panel
While we acknowledge how far we have come in the past century, we must also remember that not all women gained access to vote on May 3, 1922. Nor did it mean that women gained full socio-economic and democratic equality at that time. The centennial and panel is an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the past century while laying the groundwork for the work that remains. Panellists will speak about how to increase women’s democratic participation and what this means for equality.
Panellists
Moderator: Chelsey Rogerson, Board Chair, PEI Coalition for Women in Government
Sobia Ali-Fasal, Executive Director, BIPOC-USHR
Cheryl Simon, Assistant Professor, Schulich School of Law

After the panel, join us for refreshments, view a Foundation curated mini photo exhibition in honour of this occasion, and witness the unveiling of a PEI Advisory Council on the Status of Women developed poster to commemorate the centennial.
