Eptek Art & Culture Centre
Eptek Art & Culture Centre is an exhibition facility that offers frequently-changing exhibits, a variety of programming, and a gift shop featuring a wide selection of Island-made fine art and craft, and books on Island themes. Exhibits and programming highlight visual art, craft, history, culture, and science.
Open year-round, Eptek offers weekday art and craft demonstrations in the summer months. In the winter months, Eptek Centre becomes a community hub with many events: exhibit openings, a weekly film series, monthly book club meetings, lectures, book launches, demonstrations, and other special events.
The gift shop has a wide selection of Island-made fine art, crafts, and local books. Make sure to also visit the permanent exhibit which explores Summerside's early history and architecture.

EXHIBITIONS
This year’s Celebration of Craft exhibit, “Excellence in Craft,” features a wide variety of well-crafted contemporary pieces inspired by PEI’s talented fine craft community. This exhibition is mounted in partnership with the PEI Crafts Council, giving special attention to 2025 marking their 60th Anniversary. This exhibition will be on display from June 17th until September 26th.
Take a tour through Eptek’s new “Gallery of Kindness!” Inspired by a local artist who, despite all that is currently going on in the world, is trying to share as much kindness as possible. Explore hand-drawn picture frames that give the viewer an opportunity to create something that brings them joy. Using prompts to encourage inspiration, you can help us grow our new, little gallery space and create something that is truly joyful!

Our Climate Quest; Small Steps to Big Change – Oct 3 – 31, 2025
Make your mark at Our Climate Quest – a day of family fun to help change the world. Join us at this exciting new exhibit by Science North that’s jam-packed with activities for all ages. Check out the Climate Action Show, find your path to action, meet real change-makers, and more. With tons of hands-on activities, it’s sure to be a memorable experience for the whole family. Stained Glass with winter/fall theme with Lynne Provance
Join us for an afternoon of stained glass. Participants will complete a ready to hang 4" x 6” fall or winter themed design and receive expert guidance and assistance in its assembly.
- Sunday, September, 7, 2025 noon until 4pm.
All materials are provided! Colour choices must be made at least a week in advance, and spaces are limited, so don’t delay!
Stained Glass with sea glass with Lynne Provance
Join us for an afternoon of stained glass. Participants will design their piece using sea glass and select colours for the rest of the design. The instructor then pre-cuts and grinds the stained glass for the design and, in the second session, the participants foil and solder their piece themselves.
Two parts:
- Tuesday, September, 9, 2025 1pm until 3pm.
- Thursday, September, 11, 2025 1pm until 5pm.

Fused Glass with Carolyn Cross
Learn to make fused glass with Carolyn. Participants will learn to layer different colours and shapes of glass which will be baked in a kiln and fused to create a custom night light! Participants will need to return after 48 hours to retrieve their finished piece.
- Sunday, September, 14, 2025 1pm until 3pm.

Just Artin’ Around with Karen Slater
Join Karen Slater to learn the basics of watercolour! This class will start by going over the colour wheel and then progress into step-by-step painting of a small 5x7 watercolour painting using different techniques! You will also get the opportunity to use ink to add finishing touches!
- The workshop will take place on Wednesday, September 17th from 9am – noon.
All materials are included!
Iris Folding with Angéle Arsenault
Learn the basics of Iris Folding with Angéle Arsenault! Iris folding is a papercraft technique that creates intricate designs by layering folded strips of paper to resemble the iris of a camera lens. Participants will walk away with two finished artworks.
- The workshop will take place on Sunday, September 21st from 1pm – 3pm.
All materials are provided!
Stained Glass PEI scene with Lynne Provance
Offered once a month in July, August, and September. Participants will complete a ready to hang 8” x 8” PEI themed design of their choice and receive expert guidance and assistance in its assembly.

Chalk Pastels with Joan Savage
Learn the basics of chalk pastel on sanded paper with Joan Savage! Participants will walk away with two finished artworks – a 5x7 and 8x10.
- Wednesday, September 24th from 10am – 2pm.
All materials are provided, including the pastels!

LET’S GET CREATIVE KIDS ART CLUB
Eptek Centre is pleased to partner again with Ryan McAdam-Young and Let's Get Creative to present an art program for kids on Sunday afternoons!
During this 8-week art club, children will get messy and creative while experimenting with many types of art. Sessions will focus on painting, clay, collage, paper crafts, puppet making, drawing, and more. The program is designed to be fun while fostering creativity and is offered by art educator, Ryan McAdam-Young, who has over 15 years of experience teaching popular art classes to children on Prince Edward Island.
