"Through the Lens" by Red Sands Photography Club – On Display Jan. 13 - Feb. 22, 2026
Red Sands Photography Club is back with a new exhibition. “Through the Lens” will be on display in Eptek Art & Culture Centre's main gallery from January 13 until February 22. “Through the Lens” features the work of group members, from beginners to seasoned professionals. Red Sands Photography Club meets monthly in Summerside, and often goes on excursions as well, offering members a variety of ways to learn together about the art of photography. All are invited to the official opening on Sunday, January 18th at 1 pm. Get up close with wildlife, get lost in the details, get transported to a peaceful Island scene. The opening is a free event, all are welcome.

"Somebody's Child" by Nan Ferrier - On Display January and February, 2026
Nan Ferrier's painting series, “Somebody’s Child,” will be on display in the Eptek Art & Culture Centre lobby during January and though February. Nan had started going to the free breakfast program at Trinity United Church in Summerside, and began drawing the people there: folks who attended the breakfast, family, and others who were around. She said they have "interesting faces" and she thought, you don't often see exhibitions featuring people. "Somebody's Child" captures people in action, doing things, and speaks to our shared humanity.
Nan Ferrier will be onsite on Sunday, February 1st from 1 to 3 pm for a Meet the Artist event to celebrate the exhibition. This will be an opportunity to meet the artist and view her works. This Meet the Artist event is free to attend, and everyone is welcome.

About The Friends of Eptek Centre
The Friends Of Eptek Centre is a not-for-profit, volunteer-based, auxiliary group that supports the overall programming at Eptek Art & Culture Centre. The Friends have hosted many events and programs over the years. One of The Friends' longest-running initiatives is their Thursday lunchtime film series, which is offered to the visiting public most of the year, typically running from October through April. The Friends also support a student bursary in the arts at Mount Allison University, and often a bursary at Three Oaks High School, as well.
The Friends are always on the lookout for keen folks open to helping out, or to becoming involved in other ways, like becoming a member. Membership fees start at $10 for an individual. Members of The Friends enjoy free entry to the site, a 10% discount in the gift shop (which features only Island-made Art and craft, as well as books on Island themes), a regular newsletter keeping folks up-to-date on all of the happenings, and the warm feeling that comes from supporting the arts, and from belonging to a group of folks who understand the importance of providing access to the arts.
