Eptek Art & Culture Centre
Eptek Art & Culture Centre is an exhibition facility that offers frequently-changing exhibits, a variety of programming, and a gift shop featuring a wide selection of Island-made fine art and craft, and books on Island themes. Exhibits and programming highlight visual art, craft, history, culture, and science.
Open year-round, Eptek offers weekday art and craft demonstrations in the summer months. In the winter months, Eptek Centre becomes a community hub with many events: exhibit openings, a weekly film series, monthly book club meetings, lectures, book launches, demonstrations, and other special events.
The gift shop has a wide selection of Island-made fine art, crafts, and local books. Make sure to also visit the permanent exhibit which explores Summerside's early history and architecture.

Exhibits
Take a tour through Eptek’s new “Gallery of Kindness!” Inspired by a local artist who, despite all that is currently going on in the world, is trying to share as much kindness as possible. Explore hand-drawn picture frames that give the viewer an opportunity to create something that brings them joy. Using prompts to encourage inspiration, you can help us grow our new, little gallery space and create something that is truly joyful!

"One More Row" – On Display Nov. 12 - Dec. 19
Kensington Artist Co-op’s newest exhibition, “One More Row”, will be on display from November 12th until December 23rd. Members have taken up the challenge to create their individual take on the theme of “One More Row.” A range of mediums such as acrylic, oil, watercolour, mixed media and more will be on display!
The opening reception for this exhibition will be held on Sunday, November 23rd at 1:00 PM. This is a free event, and all are welcome!
Annual Remembrance Day Exhibit – On Display until December 19
Our annual Remembrance Day exhibit is now open for viewing in the Eptek Lobby. Each autumn, we collaborate with local historians on a lobby exhibit focusing on local veterans and their stories. This year’s exhibit highlights Tyne Valley's Flying Officer Vincent MacCausland, and Kelvin Grove's Lt. Samuel Leaman Caseley, as well as the 81st anniversary of D-Day. The exhibit will be on display in the Eptek lobby until December 19th. Many thanks to Greg Gallant of the PEI Regiment Museum and local historian Randy Ross for providing artifacts and stories for this important annual collaboration.
FILMS
The Friends of Eptek Centre’s Lunchtime Film Series runs from October to the end of April. The films are screened on Thursdays at noon in the main gallery. December’s films will be: December 4th: Rick Steves’ Europe: Art of the Baroque Age (56 min.) distributed by YouTube via Rick Steves’ Europe Channel; December 11th: Rick Steves’ Europe: Art of the Modern Age (56 min.) distributed by YouTube via Rick Steves’ Europe Channel; December 18th: Talking Pictures: Christmas Classics (45 min.) distributed by BBC Two via YouTube. We will break for Christmas and return in January for: January 8th: The Nature of Things: Making the Wild Canadian Year (45 min.) distributed by Curio. There is no charge for the film presentation. We will be enjoying some new films, as well as some from our late Friend, Blanche Hogg.

MAKERS SESSION
Join us for another drop-in Makers Session in the Eptek gallery on Sunday, December 14th from 1pm – 3pm. Gather up your latest project (or that one you’ve been meaning to sit down and finish) and join us for an afternoon of making! These sessions are a great chance to catch up with some friends, meet new ones, and see what other makers are creating! This event is free to attend, and everyone is welcome (BYO project).
LET’S GET CREATIVE KIDS ART CLUB
Eptek Centre is pleased to partner again with Ryan McAdam-Young and Let's Get Creative to present an art program for kids on Sunday afternoons!
During this 8-week art club, children will get messy and creative while experimenting with many types of art. Sessions will focus on painting, clay, collage, paper crafts, puppet making, drawing, and more. The program is designed to be fun while fostering creativity and is offered by art educator, Ryan McAdam-Young, who has over 15 years of experience teaching popular art classes to children on Prince Edward Island. Sunday afternoons from October 19th – December 7th (8 weeks)
Both groups’ ages 5-14 (choose a time that works best for your family!)
