Exhibits
"A Walk in the Wood" by Steve Leard; On Display March 3 - April 2 (Main Gallery).
Local artist Steve Leard will present a collection of his woodworking pieces, sketches, and hooked rugs in his exhibition, “A Walk in the Wood.” A veteran who returned to PEI in 1992, Leard transitioned from a career in the military to a three-decade exploration of form, function, and design. This exhibit will showcase Leard's intricately carved heirloom boxes, miniature houses, walking canes, wind catchers, black and white sketches, and rugs. Leard's imagery features mythical and surrealist creatures, inspired by Biomechanical artists like H.R. Giger. “A Walk in the Wood,” displayed in Eptek's main gallery from March 3rd until April 2nd, continues his tradition of merging imaginative storytelling with traditional craftsmanship.

"Ekim Eroom: 48 Years in the Making; On Display for the month of March, 2026 (Lobby).
"Ekim Eroom: 48 Years in the Making," a collection of artworks by Miscouche artist, Michael Moore, will be on display in the Eptek LOBBY for the month of March. This exhibition marks the first public showing of a body of work spanning nearly five decades. A soft-spoken artist who long remained hesitant to display his work in a professional gallery, Moore has spent 48 years refining a style deeply influenced by the PEI landscape. His paintings use a modern, post-impressionist approach to create colourful images, not only inspired by his surroundings, but also by black and white newspaper articles. "Ekim Eroom" offers a quiet, sincere look at PEI’s landscape through the eyes of a man who has painted for decades out of a pure love for the craft.
Artist Meet & Greet: Sunday, March 8th from 1 to 3 pm
Both Steve Leard and Michael Moore will be onsite at Eptek Art & Culture Centre on Sunday, March 8th from 1 to 3 pm to celebrate their respective exhibitions, “A Walk in the Wood,” and "Ekim Eroom: 48 Years in the Making.” This will be an opportunity to meet Steve and Michael and view their works. This Meet the Artist event is free to attend, and everyone is welcome.
SATELLITE EXHIBITION
For Music PEI’s 25th anniversary, their Awards Gala is coming back “home” to the Harbourfront Theatre, where it started out so many years ago. To celebrate, an exhibition will be on display highlighting some of the work Music PEI has done over the years. “Music PEI - 25 Years of Supporting Island Musicians” is a collaboration between Music PEI, Harbourfront Theatre, Eptek Art & Culture Centre, and The Guild. It will first be on display for the first half of Music PEI Week at The Guild’s Hilda Woolnough gallery in Charlottetown, beginning on Saturday, February 28th, before moving to Summerside to be displayed in the Harbourfront Theatre’s lounge for the second half of the week and beyond, from March 5th until March 11th. Work by this year’s nominees for Visual Artist of the Year will also be on display at these times.

About The Friends of Eptek Centre
The Friends Of Eptek Centre is a not-for-profit, volunteer-based, auxiliary group that supports the overall programming at Eptek Art & Culture Centre. The Friends have hosted many events and programs over the years. One of The Friends' longest-running initiatives is their Thursday lunchtime film series, which is offered to the visiting public most of the year, typically running from October through April. The Friends also support a student bursary in the arts at Mount Allison University, and often a bursary at Three Oaks High School, as well.
The Friends are always on the lookout for keen folks open to helping out, or to becoming involved in other ways, like becoming a member. Membership fees start at $10 for an individual. Members of The Friends enjoy free entry to the site, a 10% discount in the gift shop (which features only Island-made Art and craft, as well as books on Island themes), a regular newsletter keeping folks up-to-date on all of the happenings, and the warm feeling that comes from supporting the arts, and from belonging to a group of folks who understand the importance of providing access to the arts.
