New tour at Basin Head Marine Protected Area
Islanders are invited to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Basin Head Marine Protected Area with a new guided tour featuring hands-on conservation activities and immersive experiences that highlight the area’s natural and cultural heritage.
The tour runs Thursday to Monday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. throughout September. It begins at the Basin Head Fisheries Museum, 336 Basin Head Road, Souris, and is free with Museum admission.

A museum carries on where Prince Edward Island's long-gone train tracks used to end
For people taking the train across Prince Edward Island more than a century ago, Elmira was the end of the line. Now the service is long gone, but the station at the northeastern tip of the Island carries on, as a museum. This week it's celebrating a major anniversary and inviting the public to drop by, as a CBC team did recently.

The Bog Tour
Before there were parking lots and government buildings at Kent and Euston streets, there was The Bog — Charlottetown's historically Black neighbourhood. Making Brooms the Old-Fashioned Way
It's an art piece — but also something you can use in your day-to-day life. Barbara Little of Baba's Brooms hosted a workshop in Summerside where participants learned the history of broom-making, and got to try the craft themselves.

The National Trust for Canada is bringing back Historic Places Days
P.E.I. holds many historic sites, from houses to museums to places where Mi'kmaq and Acadians lived. We talk about some of the sites here on P.E.I., and how you could enter contests put on by a national organization that is trying to promote history across Canada.
